Centrists Rig the Game

The Times is reporting that Sir Keir Starmer is continuing his efforts to rig the process in which the party will elect his successor.

They say Labour is using Liz Truss as an example of why party members cannot be trusted to pick a leader.

The next leader may be someone that only the MPs get to directly choose – not the members.

Which begs the question – will Labour members have any role whatsoever in party decision making?

If 21st Century participatory democracy is about voting against the party you want least, it becomes easier and easier for oligarchs, king makers and puppet masters like the UK press barons to force their candidates upon us.

Of course the thing that petrifies them all is still the prospect of a Jeremy Corbyn government in which homelessness is eliminated, people can access free health and education, war is avoided, and large corporations pay their taxes.
